William Benjamin “Ben” Harrison 81 died Saturday in Martin General Hospital. Ben resided in the Bear Grass Community on 1791 Cowin Road throughout his life. He worked with Colonial Stores as long as his health allowed. He was a faithful member of the Bear Grass Primitive Baptist Church serving as deacon. Ben loved people and enjoyed helping others.
He was born in Martin County Oct. 22, 1925 to the late Roy Harrison and Lavinia Cowin Harrison. He was married to Sadie Roberson Harrison 57 yrs ago.
Surviving are his wife Sadie Harrison, a grand- son Stephen Harrison of Everetts, Sisters Rachel H. Coltrain, Robersonville, Vader H. Hodges Bear Grass, and Rebecca Boyd and Husband Linwood of Williamston. He was preceded in death by a Son William Ralph Harrison.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM in Biggs Funeral Chapel by Elders Garlon Vick and Harold Pittman. Burial will be in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday at Biggs Funeral Home.
