Mr. Jerry Wayne Bryant Sr., 60, of 2707 Fire Department Road, Williamston, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Tice Cemetery.
Mr. Bryant was born in Martin County on Oct. 11, 1946. He was the son of the late Robert Jesse and Allie Gee Williams Bryant. He served in the Army in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He was discharged from the Army on July 27, 1972. On Nov. 25, 1972, he married Linda Peel Bryant, who survives. He worked in the maintenance department of Martin County Schools until his retirement in 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Bryant Jr. of New Bern, and William Bryant of Williamston; two brothers, Jimmy Bryant and Ed Bryant, both of Williamston; and one sister, Jean Bowen of Williamston.
The family will receive friends today from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home.
