Mrs. Rosa Lee Gibbs, 97, a resident of Cross Creek Health Care Center and formerly a resident of Nebraska Road, Engelhard, died Monday, May 7, 2007, at Cross Creek Health Care Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Levi Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the Brooks Cemetery, Engelhard.
Mrs. Gibbs was born in Hyde County on April 24, 1910. She was the daughter of the late Berge Selby and Pinkie Sadler Selby. She attended the Hyde County schools. Mrs. Gibbs was a member of Saint Percy Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ). She was married to John S. Gibbs, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Minnie Murray of Swan Quarter; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter. The home is located at 630 Juniper Bay Road, Swan Quarter.
