Mrs. Pauline Arnold Sawyer, 90, of Creswell, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Washington County Hospital, Plymouth.
Born October 30, 1916 in Hendricks County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Paul Glendon and Mary Alice Jones Arnold and was preceded in death by her husband, Quincy Sawyer; son, Fred Sawyer; sisters, Marie Scearce and Fern Miles; brothers, Roy Arnold, Fred Arnold and Ralph Arnold. Mrs. Sawyer was a retired executive assistant with the USDA Soil Conservation Service and member of Philippi Church Of Christ. She was a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star Chapter 281 and was awarded her 25th year membership certificate in 2003.
Her family includes her son, William A. “Bill” Sawyer and his wife Margaret of Norfolk, Va.; daughter-in-law, Lynn Sawyer of Silver Springs, Md. and grandchildren Kim Glenn, Nathan Sawyer, Elizabeth Sawyer and Brandon Sawyer.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Philippi Church Of Christ with Larry Woodley and Glen Brickhouse officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Philippi Church Of Christ and other times at the residence.
