Mrs. Marie “Beter” Harrison Harris, 70, died Sunday, May 20, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rose of Sharon Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Mizzell family cemetery.
Mrs. Harris, a native and lifelong resident of Martin County, lived in the Bear Grass community. She was a graduate of Bear Grass School. She had worked at Liberty Fabrics for a number of years, as well as several other textile manufacturers in eastern North Carolina. Mrs. Harris was a member of Rose of Sharon Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served in the Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Jean Whitley of Windsor and four brothers, Jim Henry Harrison, Robert Lee Harrison and Andy Harrison, all of Bear Grass and Odell Harrison of Tarboro.
A victory singspiration will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Free Will Baptist Church with visitation immediately following at 7:30 p.m.
