Mr. Jimmie L. Smith, age 56, a resident of 1859 Corsica Road, Washington, NC, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Delmus Ayers, minister. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Jimmie was born in Beaufort County on April 10, 1951, son of the late Jesse Lee Smith and Margie Corinne Mayo Smith who survives. He was a 1969 graduate of Chocowinity High School. Jimmie was a salesman with Seaboard Motors and was owner and operated Beaufort Hyde Auctions.
Surviving along with Jimmie’s mother Corinne Smith of Washington is a daughter, Catherine Smith of Cary; a son, Charles Smith of Raleigh; two stepchildren, Taylor Casper of Raleigh and Jaime Hardin of Sevierville, TN; two sisters, Patricia and her husband Ernest Cutler of Blounts Creek and Jessie Carol of Chesapeake, VA; and two nephews, Kevin Cutler of Washington and Keith Cutler of Frisco, NC.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of Jimmie’s mother located at 103 Waterford Place, Washington, NC.
Flowers are welcomed and appreciated and the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, c/o Lisa Alligood, 7581 Broad Creek Road, Washington, NC 27889.
