Rufus “Red” Hall

Mr. Rufus “Red” Hall, age 76, died on Friday, May 11, 2007 in Washington near the ocean that he loved so dearly.
Mr. Hall grew up in Ohio and was a member of the US Navy, serving in the Korean War. He graduated from Kent State University in 1958, and later worked for the architectural firm Marr Knapp Crawfis of New Philadelphia, OH for 23 years before opening his own architectural firm in Wooster, OH. Mr Hall moved to North Carolina in 1984 and worked for Belk Co. He continued to work in the architectural field for many years later. Mr. Hall spent the last several years of his life as the captain of his sailboat “Last Toy”. He had a passion for boat racing and spent much time building and racing his own boats. He continued racing boats until the early part of this year.
Survivors include: a son, Ron Hall and wife Kelly, two grandchildren, Alyssa and Carson Hall, all of Midland, NC; a brother, David Hall and his wife Janice of Dublin, OH; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. on June 1, 2007 at McCotters Marina in Washington.
