Mrs. Ruby Mann College, 83, of Columbia, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at New Hanover Medical Center, Wilmington.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Azalea Memorial Gardens, Columbia, with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Crabtree officiating.
Mrs. College was born in Tyrrell County on Oct. 18, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Burnie and Martha Rhodes Mann. She was married to John H. College Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Columbia Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryll C. Allen and Kimberly C. Poff of Dayton, Tenn.; one son, John H. College Jr. of Southport; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Rupert Mann and three sisters, Daisy Mann, Amy Tarkington and Clara Swain.
The family will receive friends today from 6:30-8 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell, and other times at the home.
