Mr. Leon Spencer, 57, of 313 Fonsoe St., Columbia, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Spencer was born in Tyrrell County on April 28, 1950. He was the son of the late Mary Spencer and Earl E. Owens. He had been employed as a logger. He was married to Janie G. Spencer, who survives.
Survivors include one son, Derrick Spencer of Raleigh; two daughters, Shameka Guerrero of California, and Vivian Spencer of Raleigh; three brothers, Larry Spencer of Creswell, Sammy Beaufort of Columbia and Claude Beaufort of Tillery; five sisters, Florence Bryant of Columbia, Barbara Bacon of Georgia, Linda Cooper of Edenton, Mary L. Roberson of Robersonville and Rebecca Collins of Engelhard and five grandchildren.
