Benjamin Franklin Sadler, 94, of 20757 U. S. Highway 264, Swan Quarter died Monday, June 11, 2007, at Cross Creek Health Care Center.
Born in Hyde County on December 6, 1912, he was the son of the late Frank and Amandia Midyette Sadler. He was a retired farmer and attended Swan Quarter Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Irene Pugh Sadler; two sons, Joe Frank Sadler and Reid Gregory Sadler both of Swan Quarter; three daughters, Dale S. Fick of Chesapeake, Va., Lana S. Blake of Newport News, Va. and Kerry S. Carawan of Swan Quarter; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Emmitt, Herbert, Eugene, Ottis, Linwood and Hiram Sadler; sisters, Meta Rose, Luvenia Hodges, Ella Gibbs, Maggie Dodd and Lillian Sadler.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Richard Smartnick and Steve Bryan will officiate.
The family expresses their deepest appreciation to Dr. Richard Young, Dr. Mark Beamer, Susan Utley and the entire staff at Cross Creek Health Care Center for their special care and love extended to Mr. Sadler during his illness.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to Swan Quarter Christian Church, c/o Lenora S. Bright, Treas. 975 Main Street, Swan Quarter NC 27885.
The family will receive friends at Bryan Funeral Service on Tuesday evening, 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Kerry and Donald Carawan, 21490 U. S. Highway 264, Swan Quarter.
