Mr. Sammy C. Chandler, 84, of Crandell Street in Robersonville, died Monday, June 11, 2007, at Adams Farm Living &Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro.
A funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home, Robersonville, with the Rev. Dr. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Robersonville Cemetery.
Mr. Chandler was born in Surry County, the son of the late Cleve Wilson Chandler and Inez Mae Chandler. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was married to Lucy Chandler, who preceded him in death. He later married Doris Fowler Chandler, who also preceded him in death. He worked with Air Conditioning Corp. for 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of Robersonville Ruritan Club. He was a member of Robersonville First Christian Church, where he served on the properties committee.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Barricks of Greensboro; two sons, Robert Chandler and Wilson Chandler, both of Greensboro; two stepsons, Rick Fowler of Independence, Mo., and Robin Fowler of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 1-2 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home, Robersonville.
