Hey Pops,
I wanted to wish you a Happy Father’s Day.
It’s been too long since we’ve seen each other.
Of course I wouldn’t forget you. How could I forget you?
Things are going pretty well here. I think you’d like North Carolina. Most of the people are awesome.
You would love the weather. Remember how you used to relax in the sun every summer with our dog, Scamp, resting under your chair? That crazy dog sure loved you.
Hey, Pops, if you were here today, we could hit a beach around here. Gosh, what I wouldn’t give to do that with you.
Hey, how about those Cavaliers? Can you believe they made the NBA Finals?
Yeah, I remember when you and I went to the old Richfield Coliseum. That was fun. Gosh, that was so long ago.
I actually got to see LeBron play in Charlotte this season. The Cavs played the Bobcats.
Who are the Bobcats? Man, I keep forgetting you haven’t been around in a while. They’re a relatively new team. They’ve got some talent. I think they’ll be fun to watch next year.
Hey, Pops, if you were here today, we would have to check them out. Gosh, what I wouldn’t give to do that with you.
Hey, how about those Indians? They’re playing some good baseball again.
Remember how you used to sit in your rocking chair with the headphones on, listening to Herb Score every game?
It never failed. I would ask you what the score was and you would always say, “6-4” -— never bothering to tell me who was winning. Haha. That was funny.
Hey, Pops, if you were here today, we would definitely need to head to a game or two. Gosh, what I wouldn’t give to do that with you.
I could take you to an East Carolina Pirates game. You should see this stadium. It’s unreal. They have a lot of talent. The games are a blast to cover. I get paid to eat pizza and watch baseball. It’s great.
The Browns should do well this year. Remember watching Bernie Kosar lead the team to all those dramatic wins? Yeah, that was great.
I saw the Browns play at the Carolina Panthers last season. It was cool.
Hey, Pops, if you were here today, we could catch a game. Gosh, what I wouldn’t give to do that with you.
I think about you a lot, Pops.
I often wonder what it would be like if you were here today.
Thanks for so many great memories while you were here.
Cancer may have taken you away from us 20 years ago.
But it can’t take away the memories.
I miss you.
I love you, Pops.
Happy Father’s Day.
