Mrs. Doris Marie Hopkins Pope, 52, of 201 Baker Drive, Washington, died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Beaufort County Hospital, Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Deeper Life Ministries, Washington, with the Rev. David E. Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield &Whitley Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Pope was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 5, 1954. She was the daughter of James Hopkins and the late Mary Gray Hopkins. She attended the public schools in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was employed at The Meeting Place Restaurant, Washington. She was a member of Emmanuel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, Washington.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Pope, Natasha Pope and Juanita Harvey, all of Washington; one son, Bruce Hopkins of Washington; three sisters, Barbara A. Simmons and Jennette H. Smith, both of Washington, and Mary L. Hopkins of New York; two brothers, James Hopkins Jr. of Kentucky, and Rocky Hopkins of Roper; 13 grandchildren and one godsister, Cheryl Gieger of Bertie.
The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Barbara Simmons, 214 Marva Villa, Washington.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
