Mrs. Marjorie Martin Nicholson, 79, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Martin General Hospital surrounded by her children and grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Community Christian Church with Dale Minton officiating; burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Nicholson was born in Martin County on November 1, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Penny Jones Martin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Community Christian Church. On April 8, 1946 she married Berkley Nicholson who preceded her in death on April 7, 2000. A son, Keith Nicholson, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are daughters, Ollie Langston of Winterville, Brenda White and husband Donnie of Williamston, and Sandra Keel and husband Mike of Robersonville; sons, Danny M. Nicholson and wife Carol, and Troy Nicholson, all of Williamston; and Tracy Nicholson and wife Georgia of Youngsville; sisters, Carrie Gibson of Williamston and Betty Todd of Aulander; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren, and a special caregiver Patsy Swinson.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence 2373 U.S. Hwy. 17 South. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Community Christian Church, 22184 Hwy. 125, Williamston, NC 27892.
