Mrs. Themise Smith Hall, 88, of Plymouth, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Plumblee Nursing Center, Plymouth.
Born April 21, 1919 in Lenoir County, she was the daughter of the late Mark Nicholas and Lula Southerland Smith and was preceded in death by her son, William C. Hall, Jr.; brothers, Oliver Smith and Braswell Smith. Mrs. Hall was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess for many years and was active in the Women’s Missionary Union. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order Of The Eastern Star Chapter 281 and held a lifetime membership.
Her family includes her husband, William Carlyle Hall of Plymouth, N.C.; sons, Robert S. Hall and wife Kate of Raleigh, N.C. and Donald A. Hall and wife Carol of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Janice S. Hall of Wake Forest, N.C.; sister, Ellen Tyndall of Deep Run, N.C.; brother, Mark Louis Smith of Belhaven, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael C. Hall, Marcus Hall, Robert Hall, Daniel Hall, Jennifer Webb, Nicholas Hall and Caroline Hall; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Webb, Haley Webb, Avery Hall and Forbes Hall.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 24, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 23, 2007 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
