Hubert V. Lilley

Hubert Vergil Lilley of 1720 Kader Lilley Road in Williamston, passed away Saturday morning at his home just three weeks after receiving news that he had liver cancer. Mr. Lilley was a life-long resident of Williamston, born June 11, 1922, to Rose and Kader Lilley, and lived his entire life on the family farm. He was a heavy equipment operator and dealer who owned Lilley Equipment Services, which he continued to operate until three years ago.
His wife of 60 years, Hazel Hardison Lilley, survives, as do his four daughters. They are Vicki Lilley Peel and her husband Wayne Peel of Williamston; Sylvia Lilley Revels of Williamston; Virgil Annette Lilley of Winterville and Christy Lilley Harris of Williamston. His grandchildren include Valery Peel Davis and her husband Bobby Davis of Washington; Jeremy Wayne Peel of Greenville; Kirkland Thomas Revels and his wife Tiffany Revels of Angier; Matthew Dawson Revels and fiance’ Robin Rogers of Raleigh and Jordan Leigh Harris and Rachel Daultry Harris of Williamston. His great-grandchildren are Emerson Rose Davis and Seth Grady Davis of Washington.
This June Mr. Lilley celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary, his 85th birthday, Father’s Day and his homecoming with his family.
Visitation was at Biggs Funeral Home on Sunday evening. Services will be on Monday at 2 p.m. at Reddick’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Riley officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston.
