Mr. William “Billy” Holland Carr Jr., 70, of 25252 River Run Trail, Zuni, Va., died Monday, June 25, 2007, at home.
A celebration of Mr. Carr’s life will be held today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, Va., with the Revs. Tim Webb and Rex Alphin officiating. Burial will follow in Colosse Cemetery.
Mr. Carr was the son of the late William H. and Elsie Spivey Carr. He was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, Virginia. He was a former National Guardsman. He was married to Patricia Kitchen Carr, who survives. He was a retired farmer and had retired from Gwaltney of Smithfield. He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Phillip Godwyn Carr of Carrsville, Va.; two grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie Duke of Plymouth, Mary Butler of Carrsville, Va., and Frances Pettit of Suffolk, Va.; two brothers, James T. Carr of Windsor, Va., and John E. Carr of Washington.
He was preceded in death by one son, W. Holland Carr III.
The family suggests that memorials be made to The Children’s Center, 700 Campbell Ave., Franklin, VA 23851.
