Dora L. Waters

Ms. Dora Louise Waters, age 85, of 232 Village Circle, Washington, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at the Beaufort County Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2007 at Wanoca Presbyterian Church and will be conducted by pastor Johnny Barber and Travis Boyd. Steve Baker, Robert Waters, Travis Boyd, Jimmy Waters, Ricky Brown and Marty Swinson will serve as pallbearers.
Ms. Waters was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 20, 1922, to the late William and Bertha Elizabeth Burbage Waters and was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Waters, Edgar Waters and William Norris Waters; and three sisters, Helen Baker, Hazel Wilkinson and Katie Lancaster. Ms. Waters was a graduate of Washington High School, a homemaker and a member of The Shadow of the Cross Church in Jamesville.
Survivors include one brother, Frank Waters of Grimesland; one sister, Jenny Waters of Washington; her devoted loving niece, Pamela Waters Ayers of Greenville, who she reared as her daughter; her great niece, Sara Berger, and great nephew, Lee Cook, who she reared as her grandchildren. She had many other loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Danny Boy, her beloved dog and constant companion, will miss her.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home of her brother, Frank Waters, 244 Satchwell Road, Grimesland.
