ROCKY MOUNT — Lillian Lynda Leggett Parrish passed away quietly at home with her family at her side on Sunday morning, July 1, 2007. She was born in Beaufort County, N.C., on Dec. 22, 1931, to the late Woodson and Lillian Campbell Leggett of the Old Ford Community of Washington, N.C.
Mrs. Parrish was a retired registered nurse, having graduated from the Lenoir Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Kinston, N.C., in 1953. She worked in several different nursing positions around the state of North Carolina, moving with her late husband, N.C. Highway Patrol 1st Sergeant Wesley D. Parrish.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Parrish Bradshaw and husband Pete of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and her grandson, Wesley Bradshaw, also of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by her friend, Brad Baker of Rocky Mount.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday evening, July 3 at 7 p.m., followed by a visitation at the Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, N.C., with the Rev. James Alley, the Rev. William V. Grisham and the Rev. Dr. Carleton McKita officiating. A graveside service and burial will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at Oakdale Cemetery at 11 a.m. in Washington, N.C.
