Mrs. Lula Rachel Cayton Ensley, 94, of the Small community of Aurora, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted today at 11 a.m. in Cuthrell cemetery, the Small community, Aurora, with pastor Wesley Taylor officiating.
Mrs. Ensley was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 3, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Yancey Marion and Elvra Gaskins Cayton. On Sept. 11, 1936, she married Bryan D. Ensley, who preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1958. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Bennett of Aurora; one stepson, Dewey Ensley of Martinsville, Va.; one stepdaughter, Lucille Hall of Grantsboro; one brother, George Cayton of Wilmington; one grandchild; 14 stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 27 stepgreat-grandchildren and 27 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one stepson, George Ensley; one stepdaughter, Laverne Cayton; two sisters, Lala Price and Bertha Cayton and one brother, Cleatus Cayton.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the White Hill FWB Church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Bennett.
