Mrs. Bertha O’Neal Eborn, 87, of Far Rockaway, N.Y., and formerly of Belhaven, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, in Far Rockaway, N.Y.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Saint James Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Elder Bennie Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield &Whitley Cemetery.
Mrs. Eborn was born in Beaufort County on April 22, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lula O’Neal. She attended the Beaufort County Schools. She was married to James M. Eborn, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Saint James Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).
Survivors include four daughters, Gwendolyn Lancaster, Willie Saunders, Violene Sutherland and Donna Jackson, all of New York; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joshua O’Neal of Worcester, Mass.;
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Martin, Odien McCullough, Enoch O’Neal Sr., Freeman O’Neal and Felix O’Neal.
Mrs. Eborn’s body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the home of Barbara J. Spencer, 488 George St., Belhaven.
