Mary Jaynette Garren, 55, a resident of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died Friday, July 13, 2007. at her home.
She was born July 2, 1952, in Cleveland, Tenn., a daughter of the late LeRoy and Maude Marie Goins Pippenger.
Mary was a lab practical nurse whose loving care for her patients was well known. She enjoyed crafts, interior design and was known for her creativity. Mrs. Garren was a thoughtful, generous soft-spoken “lady” and always made people feel at ease, even in the worst situations. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and friend to all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie Garren of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a daughter, Beth Burnette of Hixson, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Sherri Hackney of Vanceboro, N.C., and Pam Szczypinski of Wake Forest, N.C.; a grandson, Jacob Burnette of Hixson, Tenn.; and four siblings, Martha Haun, Ralph Pippenger, Larry Pippenger and Jeannie Griffith.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home with Dr. Kirk Lawton, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends at McMillan-Small Funeral Home on Sunday. July 15, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m.
