Mrs. Laura Mae Gibbs Barrow, 85, of 150 Slade Farm Road, Bath, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Britthaven of Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Gateway Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Bath, with Elder Ricky Clemmons Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Barrow was born in Beaufort County on Feb. 14, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Mollie Ward Gibbs. She was married to Connie Barrow, who preceded her in death. She attended the Bath Schools. She had worked as a housekeeper with many families in the Bath area. She was a member of Gateway Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Bath.
Survivors include one son, Jim Gibbs of New York, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Queen Wheelous of Enfield, and Hattie Dudley of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter in kind, Annie Riddick of Bath; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Gibbs and Bobby Gibbs; one brother and three sisters.
The family will receive friends at the home of Annie Riddick, 668 Bayview Road, Bath.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
