Mr. William Durward Taylor, 74, of 205 Hanover St., Williamston, died Monday, July 23, 2007.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery with the Revs. David Anderson and Robbie Parker officiating.
Mr. Taylor was born in Martin County on Feb. 26, 1933. He was the son of the late Monroe and Audrey Howell Taylor. On Aug. 3, 1958, he married the former Betty Lou Dudley, who survives. He worked as a supervisor of weights and measures with the N.C. Department of Agriculture until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Davis of Rocksboro; one son, Durward Taylor Jr. of Williamston; two sisters, Shirley Smith of Ayden and Thelma Jeller of Stephen City, Va.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar Taylor and one sister, Mildred Taylor.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
