Mrs. Mary Martha McCatherine Moore, 97, of 231 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Davenport Temple Church of God in Christ, Washington, with Bishop Leroy Jackson Woolard officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Moore was born in Beaufort County on April 16, 1910. She was the daughter of the late Mahalia Moore McCatherine and Israel Moore. She attended the Beaufort County Schools. She was married to William Henry Moore, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Davenport Temple Church of God in Christ, Washington, where she served on the Mother board.
Survivors include one daughter, Sudie Keyes of Washington; one son, Hilton Moore of Washington; 66 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Daisy Moore Harris; three sons, William Moore Jr., Aben Moore and John L. Moore; three sisters and three brothers.
The family will receive friends at the home.
