Mr. Arnold James Smith, 54, of 310 E. Second St., Washington, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mary’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Washington, with Bishop Carlton Keyes officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born on Aug. 19, 1952 in north Philadelphia. He was the son of Aletha Smith Beaford. He attended Philadelphia High School. He was employed with Fountain Powerboats, Inc. He was a mentor and was also a staff manager for several opera houses. He was a member of Phillipi Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, in Greenville.
Survivors include three daughters, April Jordan of Washington, Andrea Jordan of Dover, Del., and Geneva Smith of Philadelphia; three sons, Ashton Jordan of Washington and Alex and Anthony Jordan, both of Dover, Del.; one sister, Missy Smith of Philadelphia; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
