GREENVILLE — Rob Kass probably spent Saturday night hearing the same questions over and over in his sleep.
The East Carolina sophomore, who will be the Pirates’ starting quarterback this year, immediately drew a blitz of reporters as soon as he entered the room during Saturday’s annual Media Day. Like a pack of ravaged wolves, they ascended on Kass and soon surrounded him, thrusting microphones in his face.
The 6-4, 247-pounder towered over them and kept a stoic look despite getting grilled, oftentimes with the same question, just coming from a different reporter.
Kass tried as best he could to prepare himself for the onslaught of questions.
Kass, undaunted by the media attention, is hoping future ECU media days will bring out scores more from newspaper, television and radio.
Besides having to deal with the media, most likely on a daily basis, Kass still has to better himself on the field; and he still has to prepare for upcoming opponents and he still has to go to school.
It’s a balancing act that Kass is determined to perfect.
After nearly 90 minutes of questions, Kass was finally finished with Media Day.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
