Mrs. Brenda Dugger Bell, 48, a resident of 8865 N.C. Highway 99 North, the Pike Road community of Pantego, died Sunday August 5, 2007 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday August 7, 2007 at Union Grove Church of Christ officiated by Scott Askew. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery. Edwin “Booger” Harris, Kevin O’Dell, Vernon Bell, Jay Bell, Curtis Campbell and Junior Hart will serve as pallbearers. Bryan Lee, Brandon Lee, Jeffery Allen, Mark Allen, Joseph Dugger and Christian Dugger will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Bell was born in Elizabethton, TN on April 26, 1959, daughter of the late William T. Dugger and Shirley Wagner Dugger, who survives. She was a 1977 graduate of Plymouth High School and married Jurden Braxton “J.B.” Bell, Jr., who survives, on August 5, 1997. Mrs. Bell was a homemaker who helped in day-to-day operations on the family farm and was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ. She loved going offshore fishing with her husband.
Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband, J.B., of the home; her mother, Shirley W. Dugger of Mountain City, TN; two daughters: Teresa Bell O’Dell of Fuquay-Varina and Sheila Bell of Pantego; two stepsons: Jay Bell, III and his wife Pammy and Vernon Bell and his wife Jennifer, all of Pantego; a sister, Sharon Lee of Durham; three brothers: Michael Dugger of Boone, Johnny Dugger of Mountain City, TN and Jimmy Dugger of Pantego; a maternal grandmother: Ruby Wagner of Butler, TN; three grandchildren: Tyler O’Dell, Kyle O’Dell and Kassidy O’Dell; four stepgrandchildren: Eric Bell, Casey Bell, Jessica Hubers and Jenna Williams and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday August 6, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and at other times at the home.
