Mrs. Margie Davis Stevenson, 79, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Williamston Home for the Elderly in Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted today at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, with the Rev. Ashley Trogdon and Gerald Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Stevenson was born in Martin County on Sept. 28, 1927. She was the daughter of the late John W. and Bessie Mobley Davis. She was married to Simon Thomas Stevenson, who preceded her in death. She was a retired cashier. She was the last remaining charter member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Williamston.
Survivors include one son, Simon “Leroy” Stevenson Sr. of Williamston; one daughter, Donnie S. Stump of Nashville; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Reason and five brothers, Joseph Phelps, Sidney Phelps, Willie Davis, Chester Davis and Delbert Davis.
The family will receive friends today from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston.
