Mrs. Daisy Lilley “Peachie” Perry

Mrs. Daisy Lilley “Peachie” Perry, 74, of James Wiggins Road, Williamston, died Friday, August 10, 2007 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 at Macedonia Christian Church, Williamston, officiated by Greg Sexton and Dolan Baker. Burial will follow in the Perry Family Cemetery. Troy Revels, Bob Lee Perry, Heber Coltrain, Gary Griffin, Bill Gurkin, Robbie Gurkin, Gray Peel and Alan Wiggins will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at Macedonia Christian Church, U.S. Highway 17, Williamston, and other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Simon and Gay Perry, 3188 Fire Department Road, Williamston, NC.
A lifelong resident of Martin County, Mrs. Perry was born November 29, 1932, the daughter of the late Miles Riley Lilley and Callie Irene Gurkin Lilley. She was married to Simon Amos Perry, Jr., who preceded her in death. Mrs. Perry was a homemaker, a member of Macedonia Christian Church and the Macedonia Christian Church Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Simon A. Perry, III and his wife, Gay, and Rick Perry, all of Williamston; one sister, Josie Smith of Raleigh; one brother, A.W. “Ham” Lilley of Williamston; two grandchildren, Amos Perry and his wife, Michelle, and Wendy Jones and her husband, Steve; and six great-grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Robert Schaffer, Ryan White, Tyler Perry, Gabriel Jones, and Garrett Jones.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two infant children; and two sisters, Verona Paris and Della Ward.
