Mrs. Bonnie S. Hillman, 76, of Nickelsville, Va., died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Brookhaven Manor.
A funeral will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., with the Revs. W. Patrick Johnson, Joe Barber and Patrick E. Johnson officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington. Greg Hillman, Bobby Hillman, Dennis Hillman, Daniel Elliott, Andy Harris and Mark Harris will serve as pallbearers. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday in Beaver Dam Church of Christ, Washington, with the Revs. Tony Krantz, Patrick E. Johnson and W. Patrick Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Hillman was born in Ft. Blackmore, Va., on Sept. 6, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Rev. W.P. Owens and Oma Cable Owens. She attended Dungannon High School and graduated from Beaufort County Community College with a degree in cosmetology and business. She had worked as head bookkeeper for W.O. Allen Oil Co. for 24 years, placement director for Mid East Housing for two years, manager of Roscoe Griffin Shoe Store for 10 years and in job placement with Experience Works for one year. She was married to Leon C. Singleton, who preceded her in death. In June, 2003, she married Johnny W. Hillman, who survives. She was a member of Moores Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Hilllman of Jefferson City, and Bobby Hillman and Greg Hillman, both of Nickelsville, Va.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Maggie Cable Connor, Mary Cable, Emily Johnson and Nannie Bessie Brickey and five brothers, Wade Cable, Wince Cable, the Rev. Wayne Cable, Ralph Cable and George G. Brickey Jr.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., and other times at the home.
