Lowell L. Hunter, 55, of Glen Mills, Pa., died Aug. 15, 2007, after prolonged illness.
Mr. Hunter was a Vietnam veteran who loved his country and closely followed national politics. A long time resident of Delaware County, he graduated from Chester High School. In addition to his Army service, he worked for Wawa and for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was fond of his fellow mail carriers and enjoyed his work there. Mr. Hunter was a friend to all animals and assisted animals in need through veterinary care, feeding, spaying programs, etc.
He was the son of the late Delmas Hunter and Betty Hunter, who now resides in Washington, N.C.
Survivors: Wife, Irene V. Hunter and stepson Gary Murdock; his mother, Betty; his sister, Cynthia (Art Coupe), Wilmington, Del.; his brother, Quentin (Elinor) Hunter, Chocowinity, N.C.; 4 nieces and 5 nephews, aunts and cousins.
Visitation: Lewis &Ferguson Funeral Home, Sandy Hook, Ky., Wednesday evening, 6-9 p.m. Aug. 22, 2007.
Funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday at funeral home.
Burial: Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, in the Hunter family cemetery, Sandy Hook, Ky.
Military graveside rites by VFW Post 11428.
