Perez nets two goals to lead Washington to victory

Washington High School opened the season with a crowd pleasing 3-2 win over North Eastern on Monday.
After several shots on goal were attempted by both teams, striker Carlos Perez netted one for Washington burying it in the back of the net. Northeastern quickly answered the Perez goal with a kick that sailed over Pack goalie Josh Carters head to tie the score at 1-1.
A strong defensive effort by Kyle Cochran and Robert Dail kept Northeastern in check until the Pack took the lead on Perez’ second goal of the night.
With the help of a superb throw-in assist from Daniel Sawyer, Perez was able to drive by the Northeastern defense for the score.
Washington rallied for a thrid goal when senior Archie Griffin boomed a left-footer over the Northeastern goalie’s head.
The mid-field’s strong defensive play by Allen Hodges and Ryan Beddard kept the score at 3-1 until Norhteastern was awarded a penalty kick and capitolized on it to make the score 3-2.
Freshman Thomas Sutton and senior Zack Ware made strong debuts for the Pam Pack. Ware looked good in his transition from goalie to defense.
