Mrs. Eva Everton Brickhouse, 97, of Columbia, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at Southhampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Va.
A funeral will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at Sound Side Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Royce Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Brickhouse was born in Tyrrell County on July 14, 1910. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Ann Cahoon Everton. She was married to Charlie Preston Brickhouse, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sound Side Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Muriel Jean Kight of Ahoskie; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Madeline Etheridge, Gertrude Voliva and Myrtle Brickhouse.
The family will receive friends today in the fellowship hall of Sound Side Free Will Baptist Church following the funeral service.
