John M. ‘Jimmy’ Gilreath

Mr. John Milford “Jimmy” Gilreath, 88, of Plymouth, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007 at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
A funeral service will be held today at 5 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Plymouth with Rev. Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens with full Masonic Rites.
Mr. Gilreath was born Oct. 13, 1918 in Piedmont, S.C. He was the son of the late Willie K. and Edith Gilreath. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Bratten Gilreath and one sister, Wilene Rochester. He was a retired sales engineer with East Carolina Supply. He was a veteran of the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Perseverance Lodge No. 59, the Scottish Rite, the KCCH and was a Shriner.
Survivors include one son, John M.L. Gilreath of Washington; two sisters, Patsy Gilreath of Pawley Island, S.C. and Evelyn Edmonds of Greenwood, S.C.; three brothers, Doug Gilreath of Greenwood, S.C., Billy Gilreath of Pawely Island, S.C. and Charles Gilreath of Phoenix, Ariz., four grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
