Mrs. Harriett “Irene” Harris Stell, age 91, a resident of 345 Stell Road, Bath, died Saturday, September 8, 2007, at Beaufort County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2007, from the chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by pastor Curtis White. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Lester Sullivan, Guy Cutler, George Elliott, Phil Garris, John Holt and Ken Harris.
Mrs. Stell was born in Terra Ceia on June 26, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Carol Harris and Hattie Mae Little Harris. Mrs. Stell was a retired secretary with Beaufort County Farm Bureau. She was a member of the Bath Christian Church.
On April 26, 1946, she married Starley “Louis” Stell Sr., who preceded her in death on July 19,1998.
Survivors include her son, Starley Stell Jr. and his wife, Cynthia, of Bath; and two grandsons, Ley Stell and his wife, Connie, and their son, Aiden, all of Bath, and Steven Stell of Raleigh.
Mrs. Stell was preceded in death by five brothers, Lonnie, Clifton, Lester, Roy and Bill Harris, and two sisters, Mary Webster and Kathleen White.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2007, at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home of her son, Starley Stell, 391 Stell Road, Bath.
