Mrs. Lavone Paul Lewis, 78, of Morehead City, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bath, N.C., to the late Joe and Lucy Paul. Mrs. Lewis worked as a retail manager in the book business for over 20 years.
A memorial service was held 2 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2007, at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Paul T. Stallsworth officiating. A reception was held at the church following the service.
Survivors include daughters: Linda C. Rocheleau of Savannah, Ga., Betty R. Carraway of Morehead City; granddaughters: Cristie Penland of Morehead City, Michelle C. Butler of Morganton; grandson: Gorden Lee Levine of Savannah, Ga.; great-grandsons: Matthew Dillingham, Ronald Willis, Jr., and Cristian Penland, all of Morehead City; sisters: Gwen VanZant of Fayetteville, Josie Boyette of Morehead City, Ernestine Bunn of Roanoke Rapids.
Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest O. Lewis of Morehead City.
