Mr. John Brown, 78, a resident of N.C. Special Care Center, Wilson, and formerly of Beaufort County, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at N.C. Special Care Center, Wilson.
A funeral will be conducted today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington, with Eldress Linda Tripp officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Brown was born in Beaufort County on June 14, 1929. He was the son of the late Velma Ruffin Brown and William Almer Brown. He attended the Mother of Mercy Catholic School in Washington. He had been employed as a warehouseman. He was married to Mildred Hodges Brown, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Jordan Brown; and two brothers, Samuel “Sammie” Brown of Washington, and Charles E. Brown of Riverhead, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Joseph Brown and Earl T. Brown, and one sister, Mary Brown Nicholson.
The family will receive friends today from 10 a.m. till the funeral hour at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
