Mr. Lloyd Nathan Gray, 74, of 3376 River Road, died Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 16, with Dr. Jimmy Moore officiating. Mickey Younker, Donnie Younker, Lea Younker, Lloyd Phillip Gray, II, Travis Dunn, and Tobby Wainwright will be pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington and other times at the home.
Mr. Gray was born July 7, 1933 in Beaufort County. He was the son of the late Roy Lee Gray and Alice Godley Gray. On August 13, 1957, he married Margaret (Peggy) Brooks, who survives. Mr. Gray was a graduate of Chocowinity High School. He was a retired auto parts salesman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Peggy) Gray; a daughter, Donna Kay Younker of Vestal, New York; and two sons, Steve L. Smith of Hamlet, N.C. and Lloyd Phillip Gray of Bridgeton, N.C.; three sisters, Lucille McNeill of Crownsville, Md., Polly Woolard of Washington, N.C., and Jane Burn of Spruce Pines, N.C.; a brother, Roy Warren Gray of Grimesland, N.C.; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Hudson of Vanceboro, N.C.
