Mrs. Nora Foster Braddy, age 82, a resident of 431 Foreman Lane, Belhaven, NC died Thursday September 13, 2007 at the Beaufort County Hospital in Washington, NC.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday September 16, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven officiated by Pastor Kenneth Dixon. Burial will follow in Pamlico Beach Community Cemetery at Ryder Hill. Michael Braddy, James Braddy, Kevin Braddy, Elton Braddy, Joseph Braddy and Jason Daniels will serve as pallbearers. The remainder of Mrs. Braddy’s grandchildren and James Cutler will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Braddy was born in Beaufort County on September 21, 1924 daughter of the late David Sampson “Sam” Foster and the late Ruth Elizabeth Wilkins Foster. She married James Lynwood “Jim” Braddy on July 6, 1945 who preceded her in death on March 29, 1976. Mrs. Braddy was a homemaker who labored many hours in her garden and at her sewing machine to help provide for her family. She was a member of the former Pamlico Beach Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter: Patricia Braddy Daniels and her husband Charles of Washington; three sons: Lynwood Wayne Braddy and his wife Ann, James Melvin Braddy and his wife Sarah and Kenneth Philmore Braddy and his wife Terry all of Belhaven; a companion: Fenner Cox of Belhaven; five sisters: Celeste F. Brand of Virginia Beach, VA, Rennie F. Killingsworth of New Bern, June F. Killmon-Prue of Orange City, FL, Elaina Dee Foster of Chesapeake, VA and Betty F. Kirk of Belhaven; two brothers: Charlie Franklin Foster and Ernest Floyd Foster both of Belhaven; seventeen grandchildren: Tamatha Braddy, Wendy Braddy, Sandy Kennedy, Crystal Hopkins, Dawn Braddy, Michael Braddy, Kevin James Braddy, Janet Braddy, Kenneth Elton Braddy, Stephanie Braddy, Renae Braddy, James Braddy, Jason Daniels, Michelle Daniels, Jim Daniels, Michelle Linton and Alison Daniels and eight great grandchildren: Joseph Braddy, Clarissa Kennedy, Madison Braddy, Hunter Braddy, Wayne Daniels, Hunter Daniels, Michaela Daniels and Jacob Daniels. Mrs. Braddy was preceded in death by a brother: Hilton Samuel Foster, Jr. and a sister: Sadie F. Prue.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and at other times at the home of Mrs. Braddy’s son Wayne Braddy located at 70 Foreman Lane, Belhaven, NC.
