Mrs. Doris Mizelle Jernigan, 81, of 537 Elm Grove Road, Colerain, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Elm Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Thompson and Preston Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.
Mrs. Jernigan was born in Bertie County on Oct. 14, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Genie and Sophia White Mizelle. She was married to Raleigh Jernigan, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Janie Jernigan and Nancy J. Mizelle, both of Colerain and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor.
