Mr. Hampton “Hampy” Allen III, age 48, a resident of 24558 U.S. Highway 264 East, Pantego, died Friday, September 21, 2007.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the Coltrain Family Cemetery, located behind Mr. Allen’s home, conducted by Jon Langley and Lee Blackburn.
The following will serve as active pallbearers: George Baker, Conway Carawan, Harry Giles, David Hoggard, Robert Lowe, Al Sawyer, Timmy Stotesbury and Keenan Woolard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Armstrong, Lloyd Harris, Chris Phillips, Stephen Ruark, Toby Tetterton and Mack Wallace.
Mr. Allen was born in Anson County on December 13, 1958. He was the son of Hampton B. Allen, Jr. and Judy Estridge Allen. Mr. Allen graduated from John A. Wilkinson High School. He was self employed as a commercial fisherman and bulldozer operator. Mr. Allen was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ.
On June 14, 1985, Mr. Allen married the former Connie Coltrain, who survives.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Coltrain Allen of the home; his daughter, Kasey Elizabeth Allen of the home; his son, Tyler Bennett Allen of the home; his parents, Hamp B. Allen and Judy Allen of Florence, SC.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmie and Sylvia Coltrain of Pantego; and his brothers-in-law, Todd Coltrain and his wife Amy of Pinetown, Ronnie Coltrain and his wife Beverly, of Pantego, and Greg Coltrain and his wife, Robin of Belhaven.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to8:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Wilkinson Church of Christ, Wilkinson Station Road, Pantego and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wilkinson Church of Christ Building Fund, 141 Wilkinson Station Road, Pantego, N.C. 27860.
