Mrs. Alta Riddick Moore, of 95 Swamp Road, Pantego, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Antioch Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Pantego, with Elder Mack Freshwater officiating and eulogist Vice Bishop Melvin Scott. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Moore was born April 6, 1908 in Pantego. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Minnie Brown Riddick. She was educated in the Beaufort County Schools. She graduated from State Normal Teachers College (now known as Elizabeth City State University) in Elizabeth City. She taught primary grade levels for 42 years in the Beaufort County Schools. She was married to the Rev. George W. Moore, who preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of Antioch Disciple Church of Christ in Pantego, where she served in a number of positions including church secretary.
Survivors include one foster daughter, Justine Spence and two sons-in-kind, Gregory Riddick and Albert Baker.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Harrell and two brothers, Frank Riddick Sr. and James C. Riddick.
The family will receive friends at the home.
The body may be viewed today from 2-7 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
