Daniel Lee Curtis, 49, sailed away on Sunday, September 23, 2007 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He will be forever in the hearts of his wife of 22 years, Amy Suzanne; his mother, Helen; daughters, Kelsey Mahoney Curtis and Sierra Hawley Curtis; daughter of the heart, Brittany Leigh Johnson; dogs, Chilly, Scooby and Rocket, and his many friends, especially Katherine Brooks and Beverly Cratch.
He was born in Greenville, N.C .on April 25, 1958 to Helen S. Sawyer of Washington, N.C. and the late Paul Curtis. Dan is also survived by his brothers, Steve, David and Jeff Curtis; sisters, Jami Adkins and De Glakas.
Dan was a respiratory therapist for many years in eastern N.C. His favorite adventures included: playing with his salt water aquariums, sailing, kayaking, scuba diving, carpentry; and teaching his children the fine art of risk taking.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Greenville Hilton. A memorial fund has been established for his daughters’ education.
