Mr. Aaron Gibbs, 74, of 663 Hancock St., Apt. 3, Brooklyn, N.Y., died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at St. John Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in White Oak Chapel Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Bath, with Elder Kirk T. Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Gibbs was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 21, 1932. He was the son of the late Myrtle Rodgers Gibbs and Matthew Gibbs Sr. He attended the Beaufort County Schools. In 1954, he married Hersey Mann Gibbs, who survives. He worked as a delivery truck driver for Allwood and Stern Express Companies, Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a member of White Oak Chapel Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Bath.
Survivors include one daughter, Myrtle Gibbs of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter-in-kind, Nancy Ballard of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five sisters, Isabell Jennette of Washington, Addie Fulcher, Maggie McBride and Annie Riddick, all of Bath, and Audrey Riddick of Pantego; two brothers, Samuel Gibbs of Greenville, and Fredrick A. Gibbs of Germany; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Gibbs and four brothers, William Gibbs, Matthew Gibbs Jr., Larry Gibbs and Alford Gibbs.
The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Annie Riddick, 668 Bayview Road, Bath.
