Mrs. Roberta Lee Hooten Tetterton, age 54, a resident of 420 Long Ridge Road, Pinetown, NC died Monday October 1, 2007 at the Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday October 4, 2007 at the Hunters Bridge Church of Christ officiated by Arthur Bud Ball. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Elders and Deacons of Hunters Bridge Church of Christ will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of E.J.’s Logging and E.J. Tetterton Trucking, Inc.
Mrs. Roberta was born in Beaufort County on October 11, 1952 daughter of the late James Whitford Hooten and the late Elsie Ellen Meekins Hooten. She was a 1970 graduate of John A. Wilkinson High School and married Edwin Tetterton, Jr. on September 11, 1987 who survives. Roberta was a bookkeeper for E.J.’s Logging and E.J. Tetterton Trucking, Inc. and a member of Hunters Bridge Church of Christ. Even after her death Roberta lovingly and graciously continues to share the gift of life to others through organ donation.
Survivors include Roberta’s husband Eddie of the home, one daughter: Samantha J. Waters and her husband Chris, three grandsons: Austin Fisher Waters and James Thomas Williams, Michael Ray Williams and their mother Laura Williams of Wilmington; one son: Dalton Ray Williams and one brother: David W. Hooten of Washington.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday October 3, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and at other times at the home.
