Mrs. Violet B. Hunt

Mrs. Violet Mae Boyd Hunt, age 85, a former resident of 1101 W. 3rd Street, Washington, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Ridgewood Manor in Washington.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by pastor George Daniels.
Mrs. Hunt was born in Beaufort County on June 9, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. Boyd and Mary Emma Coltrain Boyd. Mrs. Hunt was a homemaker. She was a charter member of West End Baptist Church.
On January 27, 1945, she married James P. Hunt, who preceded her in death, March 31, 1978.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Hunt Lewis and her husband, James D. Lewis of Washington; her granddaughter, Christie Lewis Potts and her husband, Charles Z. Potts, Jr. of Washington; her grandson, Gregory Hunt Lewis and his wife, Lynn W. Lewis of Bath; her great-granddaughter, Morgan A. Potts; her two great-grandsons, Latham G. Potts and Gray W. Lewis; her sister, Dorothy B. Whitaker of Washington and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by a daughter, Treva Lee Hunt; and four brothers, Monford F. Boyd, Marvin N. Boyd, W. Dempsey Boyd and Herman A. Boyd.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home of her daughter, Mary Lou Hunt Lewis, 211 Williamsburg Road, Tranters Creek Estates, Washington.
