Mr. Paul Nethercutt, 84, of Greenville, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Pinewood Mausoleum.
Mr. Nethercutt was born in Craven County. He graduated from Maury High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre and receiving the Good Conduct and Pacific Theatre medals. He was employed with the Greenville Fire and Rescue Dept. where he served as assistant chief, retiring with 35 years of service. He was named Fire and Rescue Person of the Year in 1981. He was married to Jessie Hudson Nethercutt, who survives. He was a member of Barrington Hunting Club. He was a member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church, Greenville.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Nethercutt Craig of Franklinton and Karen Nethercutt of Simpson; two grandchildren and one brother, Dawson Nethercutt of Grimesland.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.
