Mr. Michael Whitaker, 42, of 19131 N.C. Highway 125, Hamilton, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hamilton Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Harold Dudley officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery.
Mr. Whitaker was born in Martin County on Aug. 20, 1965. He was the son of Leamon Earl Whitaker and the late Nora Bullock Whitaker. He was married to Peggy C. Whitaker, who survives. He was a service technician with Colony Tire. He was a member of Hamilton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include one son, James Devon Hollis of Farmville; one daughter, Tanya Manning of Grimesland; two brothers, Danny Ray Whitaker of Williamston and Ben E. Whitaker of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister, Susan Whitaker of Winterville; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Debra W. Edmondson.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, and other times at the home.
