Hope H. Taylor

Mrs. Hope Hodges Taylor, age 77, a resident of 1781 Taylor Road, Chocowinity died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the Beaufort County Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday October 19, 2007 at Wayside Presbyterian Church of Chocowinity officiated by Rev. Ola Forbes, Jr. A private burial for extended family will follow the service.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Beaufort County on November 6, 1929, daughter of the late Harry Skinner Hodges, Sr. and the late Minnie Willard Hodges. She was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School and a 1951 graduate of Meredith College. Mrs. Taylor married William Rayvon Taylor, Sr. on December 29, 1953, who survives. She was a health and physical education teacher at Washington High School and a science teacher at Chocowinity High School. Mrs. Taylor was a very active member of Wayside Presbyterian Church where she was a past teacher of the Adult Sunday School class and a lifelong member of the Women in the Church.
Surviving along with her husband Rayvon of the home is a daughter: Connie T. Lewis and her husband Lenwood of Grimesland; a son: William Rayvon Taylor, Jr. and his wife Felecia of Chocowinity; a grandson William Ryan Taylor of Chocowinity; three sisters: Mary H. Smith and her husband Delma of Chocowinity, Evelyn H. Hill and her husband Myron of Kinston and Janet H. Alligood and her husband Robert of Washington; a brother: Harry Skinner Hodges, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home.
